I’ve always wanted to get in on the “You’ve Been Boo’d” action but with all our other Halloween activities have never found the time. I’ve even bought stuff to make little baskets for the past two years and just didn’t get around to doing it. So this year I decided to make my own printable to motivate me to get the Boo’s started in our neighborhood! And since we are known as the “Harry Potter House” I knew I had to keep with the theme. I’ve seen so many cute boo basket ideas from popcorn and candy to movies and decorations, there are so many fun things you can include without breaking the bank. The Target dollar stop always has great holiday items and you can’t beat Dollar Tree for good basket fillers. For this basket, I tried fill with some Harry Potter magic like “butterbeer” (cream soda and butterscotch candy), Honeydukes lollipops, chocolate bars for dementor recovery and quidditch broom pens. I also found Bertie Bott’s every flavor beans and Jelly Slugs that I couldn’t resist including!
Check out the link below for full instructions along with the free printable to include in with your goodies. Then just gather some treats, choose your muggles and make the drop via owl post. Have fun!
I’ve had several requests for this party lately so wanted to throw up a quick gallery to show all of the details. Full details to come soon but take a quick trip down memory lane with this old school McDonald’s party!
Party food was easy with a trip to McDonald’s (thank you Hamburglar), as well as an 80s inspired cake (thank you Grammy). Decorations were part homemade, part ebay (does anyone else remember those paper hats?!?). And games were crowd-sourced from memories of childhood parties, complete with paper straw drop, ketchup toss, drink carrier relay and box stacking…such simpler times. Have fun!
New York City during the holidays is truly magical, but the thought of braving the cold and the crowds with two kids made my head hurt. This year, due to unforeseen circumstances, our date night in New York became a last-minute family adventure in the city – and it was awesome!
A quick Thanksgiving post for a quick Thanksgiving snack! I made these for my son’s school a few years ago and they’ve been a hit on Pinterest so thought I’d do a tutorial. They’re fairly self-explanatory from the picture but here’s the simple run down. [Read more…] about Thanksgiving Turkey String Cheese
